Calling all superheroes! Put on your cape (or wear your regular walking attire) and spring into action at the SUPERHEROES 5km walk/run for Dog Guides. This is a FUNdraiser 5km where you can walk or run. Stroller-friendly for sturdy jogging strollers.

About the event

Run or walk, this is your excuse to dress up as your favourite superhero and have some fun. The 5km trail will take you along farm roads and groomed trails throughout the gorgeous red pine forests, Christmas tree fields, and a beautiful sugar maple bush.

CAN'T WALK OR RUN, but still want to participate? You can! We will have a food tent set-up with picnic tables. There will be Superheroes, a raffle, food, drinks and music.

TICKETS:

****Early Bird ends March 31st****

- $20 each, Teens/Adults

- FREE for ages 0-12yrs

On April 1st

- $25 each, Teens/Adults

- $10 each for kids aged 5-12yrs (under 5yrs free)

*TEENS/ADULTS will receive a finishers medal.

*KIDS AGES 12YRS & UNDER will receive a special superhero souvenir. If you'd like your child 12yrs & under to receive a finishers medal, please purchase the Teen/Adult ticket.

PET POLICY:

1. Dogs are permitted as long as they are friendly with other dogs and children.

2. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.

3. Please pick-up after your dog, so other racers don't step in anything ;)

Proceeds from the race will support the Lion's Foundation of Canada Dog Guides (the real superheroes!). Their mission is to assist Canadians with a medical or physical disability by providing them Dog Guides at NO COST.

: To do this, the Foundation operates Dog Guides Canada, a preeminent national training school and charity that assists individuals with disabilities through specialized Dog Guide programs. : These Dog Guides are provided at no cost to eligible Canadians from coast to coast despite costing $25,000 to train and place. The Foundation relies on donations from individuals, service clubs, foundations and corporations and does not receive any government funding.

This event is run by the Almaguin Highlands Lions Club of Strong Township.

  • Teen/Adult: 13yrs+

    Regular ticket valid for one admission on May 26th 2019. The 5km begins at 1:00pm, please arrive at least 15 minutes early to give yourself enough time to park and check-in. Parking is alongside Bloomfield Rd, please walk into the farm.

  • FREE GIFT Kids: 12yrs & under

    ALL CHILDREN must be accompanied by a registered adult. This ticket is for ages 12yrs & under only. This ticket includes a race souvenir at the finish line. This ticket does NOT include a finishers medal. If you'd like your child to receive a medal, please purchase the Teen/Adult ticket.
