Real Trees vs Artificial Trees
Myths Busted!
Tree Farmers do not cut down forests.

We Plant seedlings each and every Spring.
Not just 1 or 2, rather 2-3 seedlings are
re-planted per each Christmas Tree we cut.
Some families go into the bush and cut
their own tree to save money, but that tree
is generally never re-planted; who's really
cutting down the forests?
We Maintain our farm in an all natural and
organic way. There are no chemicals or
pesticides used anywhere on the farm. In December, we drag all our trees from the fields by hand to prevent any excessive gas or oil spilling; we maintain a clean, organic farm of beautifully healthy trees.

We Harvest our trees to families wanting to plant a tree at their home or cottage. In addition to re-planting the Christmas Trees cut in December, we re-plant our harvested trees provided to local homes and families. We also donate trees (and re-plant!).

We Repeat these simple steps for a natural and quality tree. Our Tree Farm has been serving the Algonquin/Muskoka/Almaguin Highlands/Near North for 60 years and we have never caused a 'deforestation' nor plan on it
Myth 1) Tree Farmers Cut Down Forests
Copeman Christmas Trees are 100%
organically grown and Mother
Nature approved! We do not use any
pesticides or chemicals to grow our
trees. In addition, we always
re-plant by hand - no tractors are
used, thus no gasoline.
Real Christmas Trees are beneficial
to the atmosphere by absorbing
carbon dioxide and other gases,
emitting fresh oxygen. This helps prevent the earth-warming "greenhouse effect".

Fake trees, most of which are manufactured in Korea, Taiwan or Hong Kong, consist of plastics and metals that aren't biodegradable.
Beware of lead dust from plastic trees and wreaths. Check the warning labels. Lead causes cancer and birth defects. In addition, when a fake tree catches on fire it releases those hazardous fumes into the air.
Myth 2) Tree Farmers Pollute The Earth

That’s a very short-sighted
perspective. According to
research, most fake trees are
only used 6 to 9 years before
they’re disposed. Even if you
would use one for 20 years or
more, it will eventually be
thrown away and end up in a
landfill.

Real trees can be chipped up for
landscaping or put into lakes and
ponds for smaller fish to survive. Even if you throw it in your backyard, or back into the forest, a real Christmas tree will completely decompose and actually benefit the Environment
Myth 3) It's Better To Use Fake Tree Because You Can Re-Use It
Myth 4) Fake Trees Save A Tree
The irony is, I've seen some fake trees advertised as "Save a Tree", but fake trees come in a box and boxes are made from trees. In addition, once the artificial tree is thrown away, the chemicals enter the Earth's soil and hinder the Environment terribly; you could argue that a Fake Trees "Kills a Tree".

A real Christmas tree from Copeman Tree Farms is guaranteed to be re-planted in the Spring, so be proud to "Save a Tree" this year and support your local Christmas Tree Farm!
Myth 5) Real Trees Are A Hassle & Make A Mess!
Who says it's a hassle? Oh yes, artificial tree buyers. You can make your real Christmas tree find an exciting family event! Bring the kids to Cut-Your-Own, or pick out a freshly cut tree at our lot; your teenie-boppers will receive a complimentary, home baked, soft, delicious (almost famous) Gingerbread Man. Or, we can simply the process even further by delivering your tree right to your door!
Bottom line, you decide how much time you can spend on getting your tree.
As far as a 'mess', that depends on how well you care for your tree. All our trees are cut fresh every day in December and guaranteed to last you to Christmas, with proper care. Check out our proper tree care tips and secrets to a mess-free Christmas!
