For over 34 years, the Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides has been a vital national fundraiser in support of Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides.
Taking place in approximately 300 communities across Canada, these walks raise funds to assist Canadians with a medical or physical disability by providing them Dog Guides at no cost.
A family and dog-friendly event that welcomes participants of all ages and abilities, our Superheroes 5km for Dog Guides relies on the generous support of volunteers, donors, and partners to meet its goal of giving Canadians a new leash on life.
Providing specially trained Dog Guides through seven distinct programs meeting a wide range of needs, Dog Guides increase the independence, mobility, and safety of their handlers.
To date, more than $18 million have been raised for Dog Guides!
Two Ways To Register:
1. Call or text 705-492-4950 and request a paper Pledge Form. You will ask family & friends to donate to your walk.
Collecting pledges online: you can create an online account to collect pledges and add yourself to the 'Almaguin Highlands Lions Club' team. As long as you join our 'team' online, we will know you're registered for our walk location. *If you only want to collect pledges online, you can. Just join our walk team here, and you do not need to request a paper pledge form. The walk is free for you to participate in, when you collect pledges.
2. Or, if you do not* want to ask family & friends for donations, you can donate $25/adult (kids free) by e-Transfer: BillCopeman10@gmail.com
